Kids Swimming Program Categories

 

-BEGINNER
The Beginner class is for children who have little or no independent swimming skills, but are not scared of the water. We expect beginner swimmers, especially with no previous group lesson experience, to be a little nervous the first few days of class. Each group lesson’s duration is 45 minutes, with the maximum of 8 participants per lesson.

Skills taught
Breathing, floating, gliding, basic arm strokes, kicking and treading water.

 

-INTERMEDIATE
The Intermediate class is for children who are able to swim at least 15 yards on their front and back unsupported. Each group lesson’s duration is 45 minutes, with a maximum of 16 participants per lesson.

 Skills taught
Stroke technique for freestyle, introducing backstroke and breaststroke, diving, develop the swimmers endurance level which will allow them to swim farther.

 

-ADVANCED
Advanced swimmers are ready to be introduced to the competitive aspects of swimming. Swimmers demonstrate comfortable freestyle with rotary breathing, a competent backstroke. Each group lesson’s duration is 45 minutes, with a maximum of 16 participants per lesson.

Skills Taught
Coordination & refinement are the objective at this level. Participants refine performance in all strokes (front & back crawl, butterfly, breast stroke elementary backstroke, & sidestroke). Flip turns on front & back are also introduced.
